It’s been a while, to say the least. My priorities have shifted a bit, so I’ve retooled my 30 by 30 goals. Here’s some things I’ve accomplished or am working on.

Making progress. Feeling better. I need to improve on taking them at the same times on the weekends that I do on the weekdays.

  • Go to the gym 5 days a week for three months (3/60)

Ponied up the $160 to work out at dawn with Julia for a week. Her 20/20/20 program is designed for gym workouts, so I’ll be taking her plan to the Y next week. I’m also looking into doing yoga on Friday mornings. We’ll see. I’m already sleeping better and seeing a MASSIVE improvement in my heartrate while doing cardio.

  • Go a month without caffeine

This goal had originally been three months. I haven’t had Diet Coke since, and I’ve mostly broken my caffeine dependency. Sometimes you have to be alert and didn’t get a lot of sleep, though, so this goal has been modified.

  • Read one book/fortnight (13/31)

Here’s what I’ve read since last I updated:

    • Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross
    • Bad mother : a chronicle of maternal crimes, minor calamities, and occasional moments of grace by Ayelet Waldman
    • Manhood for amateurs : the pleasures and regrets of a husband, father, and son by Michael Chabon
    • The end of everything by Megan Abbott
    • The political brain by Drew Westen
    • The pale king : an unfinished novel by David Foster Wallace
  • Visit 5 museums (1/5)

I used my Frist Center membership before it expired, going on a curator-guided tour of the Warhol exhibit with Beth.

I’ve probably actually completed this already, but these are just the mental tally. I’ve been working to improve our diet at home, and the CSA has been a huge help. I probably would not have made zucchini-banana bread otherwise, or roasted cherry tomatoes, or …

  • Help plan a local unconference

Working on it! I’m budget coordinator for BarCamp Nashville this year.

  • Use my Southwest credit before it expires

Right now I’m thinking about letting my husband take a weekend trip with some friends using this credit.

  • Finish novel

Progress has slowed since I realized a major inaccuracy, but I’m working to mentally untangle and reroute it.
